Off. William E. Begones

     Retired CPD Officer William E. Begones, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Donna Rae (Thienpont) Begones.

     Born in Providence, he was the son of the late William and Rita (Comella) Begones.  Bill joined the CPD on August 28, 1961, and retired on January 1, 1987.

     He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era. He was also the owner and operator of All Star Baseball cards in Cranston.

     Besides his wife, he’s survived by his loving children, William E. Begones III and his wife Tammy, Frank Iafrate and his wife Lisa; cherished grandchildren BJ Begones, Abby Begones, Kenny Iafrate, and Giselle Iafrate; dear sister Helen Russo. He was the brother of the late Richard Begones.

     Rest in peace our brother.
